The main reason for cancelling this year's competition is that as Phuturehype as grown, there are more female mcs from up and down the country who want to enter the competition. Having the heats just in London is very limiting for them. The reason why they were just in London is because that is where I am based and because I am funding it entirely from my money, I cannot afford to have heats up and down the country.

The take up for this year's comp has been slow mainly because a lot of the potential entrants are outside London eg Manchester, Scotland and coming down to London is long which is understandable.

The only way I can have heats outside London is to apply for funding from the various Arts bodies in this country.
So I have decided to cancel this year's Phuturehype comp to concentrate on getting funding so that I can have regional heats next year.
If I don't get the funding, Phuturehype will continue, but in a new format.
